INDIAN LAND, S.C. — Indian Land will soon have a new option for customers looking for an oil change to their car.
Valvoline is under construction at the intersection of U.S. 521 and Doby’s Bridge Road, across from the Cross Creek shopping center.
The store will be located near the site of the former GATE gas station in The Commons at Doby’s Bridge, which will become a Tidal Wave Auto Spa.
“A Valvoline oil change facility is being constructed at the intersection of U.S. 521 and Doby’s Bridge Road at 4126 Doby’s Bridge,” said Matthew Blaszyk, a planner with the Lancaster County Planning Department. “The project went through the conditional use hearing process and was heard by the Planning Commission on April 18, 2023, and was approved by County Council on May 8, 2023.”
The .64-acre site for the Valvoline will be about 650 feet from Express Oil Change and Tire Engineer, another oil change business off U.S. 521, and half a mile from Jiffy Lube off Shelley Mullis Road. Valvoline’s store in Indian Land will be similar in its design to both oil change facilities.
Valvoline is the second largest oil change service provider in the United States with over 1,650 locations and 8,900 employees. In addition to vehicle services, the company offers various oil products and solutions for numerous types of vehicles.
Valvoline is expected to open its Indian Land location in the next several months. The Lancaster News reached out to Valvoline for comment, but attempts were unsuccessful.
