DALZELL, S.C. — Rebecca “Becky” Ellen Hinson Brown, 68, beloved wife of 44 years of Richard “Rick” Alexander Brown, died on Monday, March 18, 2024, at National Healthcare of Sumter.
Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Jessie Willard Hinson and Jewel Morton Hinson. Becky worked as a support parent for Family Connections for over 26 years. During the time Becky and her husband were stationed in Ramstein, Germany, she served as an operations clerk at the youth center on base. She loved traveling with her family, and they were able to experience many wonderful places together. Her true joy in life was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Rick, she is survived by a son, Matthew Alexander Brown and his wife, Jessica, of Southington, Conn.; a daughter, Katelyne Brown of Dalzell; two brothers, Glen Hinson and Bryan Hinson and his wife, Angie, both of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Addy, Declan, Brynlee and Kenna.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Vicky Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Bullock Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Paul Hefner officiating. The burial will follow the funeral service in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
