INDIAN LAND, S.C. — Mrs. Margaret Jane (Linnon) Hoover, of Indian Land, was born on Feb. 24, 1934, in St. Petersburg, Pa. She died peacefully at home on March 26, 2024, surrounded by family.
Margaret “Peg” was the daughter of Paul William Linnon and Bessie Marie (Lieberum) Linnon. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School and received an associate degree in nursing (LPN) from Clarion College.
On June 20, 1953, Peg married Daryl “Dick” Richard Hoover. They lived in Clarion, Pa., and were blessed with four children. Peg, a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarion, worked her entire career at Clarion Osteopathic Hospital as an aide, LPN, respiratory therapist, retiring as director of medical records.
Peg and Dick relocated to Lancaster, S.C., to be near family. They became members of Lancaster First United Methodist Church, where they made many wonderful friends. In recent years, they moved to Indian Land, and became members of Belair United Methodist Church. Peg loved spending time with family and will be greatly missed.
Peg is survived by her husband, Daryl “Dick Hoover; children, Darylene (Ted) Finkelstein of Indian Land, Janice (Stanley) Michalski of Charlotte, N.C., Mark (Kim) Hoover of Blair, S.C.; grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Davies, Curt (Jena) McGrane, Carson (Pete) Kidwell, Luke Michalski, Blake Hoover; Michael Livecchi, Maddie and Lilly English; great-grandchildren, Amy and Sarah Davies, and Piper, Hudson, Colton and Walker Kidwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bessie Linnon; daughter, Barbara Hoover; brother, William Linnon and sister, Elizabeth (Linnon) Ashbaugh.
A memorial celebration will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Belair United Methodist Church in Indian Land, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.
