I have only known Bobby Bailey for a few years, but it feels like we grew up together. And in many ways, I believe we did.
His love for life and people, especially his passion for students, resonated with me as an educator and a servant.

I have only known Bobby Bailey for a few years, but it feels like we grew up together. And in many ways, I believe we did.
His love for life and people, especially his passion for students, resonated with me as an educator and a servant.
We both grew up in the South during a very difficult time in our history. We both valued living and loving others. We both valued education and service.
Bobby was unreserved, unapologetic and always joyfully unexpected — you always had to be ready because you never really knew what was coming next with him.
I'm going to miss him greatly because he always made my day better, my life better, just being in his orbit.
Our shared faith in God and our desire to bless others will continue to keep me at peace with his absence and drive me forward to continue his work and build on his legacy.
Thanks to folks like Bobby Bailey, I will Always Be Upward Bound!
The Rev. Eddie Boykin
