LANCASTER, S.C. — On Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m., the city of Lancaster will host its annual Rosie’s Easter Egg Hunt at the American Legion field at 823 S. Main St.
This free event will feature more than 6,000 eggs filled with candy and toys. Youth ages 12 and under from all around are invited to participate in separate egg hunts at different times divided by age group.
The first hunt will include children ages 4 and under, beginning at 10:30 a.m., the second hunt for ages 5 to 8 will begin at 11 a.m., and the final hunt for children ages 9 to 12 will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Golden eggs will also be scattered equally throughout each hunt. These golden eggs will be filled with special prizes.
Children are asked to bring their baskets as a limited number of collection bags for eggs will be available.
Families can also enjoy food trucks, music, face painting, and other family-friendly activities. Rosie and Peter, the Rabbit will make a special appearance and be available for photos.
Lisa Roddey, the city’s events and promotions manager is egg-static about the annual Rosie’s Easter Egg Hunt.
“The key is seeing those kiddos beam with joy! This is just one of the many amazing events our Lancaster crew loves hosting, diving into the fun alongside our community,” says Roddey, a Lancaster native. “And hey, who doesn’t get a kick out of watching those little egg hunters turn into gold-seeking champions!”
Please note the following tips to help make this free community event enjoyable for all:
Parking is available at the American Legion; however, the American Legion is walkable from many Lancaster neighborhoods and downtown.
Parents or guardians will need to be present with their children during the event.
Pushing, shoving or knocking down participants will not be tolerated. Any such instances will result in immediate removal from the egg hunt.
