  • Warriors cap unbeaten region...

    Indian Land High School wrapped up its second straight Region IV-AAA baseball crown with two wins over Keenan High School on Thursday night.
    The Warriors, 8-0 in region play for the second straight season, prevailed over Keenan, 15-0, 13-2.
    In the 15-0 win over the KHS Raiders, Adam Morrison had a hit, four RBIs, a walk and scored a run.
    Chase Dougherty drilled a double, drove in a run, scored twice and had two walks.
    Lawson Otte had a hit, two RBIs and scored twice.
    Brayden Small supplied a hit and two RBIs.

  • Banal returns home to win Fuel...

    Driver Steve Banal returned to his home track to win the Fuel Late Model Series race Saturday night at Lancaster Motor Speedway.
    Banal, at the drop of the green flag, sprinted to the lead of the City Chevrolet main event.
    Willie Milliken quickly slid by Shaun Harrell for second as the top three opened up some space between themselves and the rest of the field.

  • Bruins tennis team wins

    Lancaster High School Bruins tennis team downed Westwood High School, 5-1 in LHS’s last region match in regular-season play.
    The Bruins swept the singles in posting the win.

    Isaac Thomas (L) defeated Alex Winslow (W), 6-2, 6-1.
    Brevon McKinney (L) defeated  Khameron Evans (W), 6-0, 6-1.
    Connor Parman (L) defeated Hardik Marlapudi (W), 6-3, 6-0
    Jakob Sapp (L) defeated Breenan Davis (W), 6-0, 6-1.
    Alex Barton (L) defeated Christian Williams (W), 5-7, 6-1 tiebreaker (10-6).

  • Warriors post wins over Cougars...

    The Indian Land High School boys soccer team improved to 12-4 overall with a pair of wins over Class AAAA foes this week.
    The Warriors blanked York High School, 3-0 on Wednesday night as John Fosu, Jordan Perry and Chukwuzam Idehem each tallied a goal.
    Addison Guild and Brandon Sanchez each had an assist.
    Gabe Burris had seven saves in the ILHS win.
    On Monday, Indian Land took a 4-2 win over Lancaster High School at Memorial Stadium.

  • Barber signs with Emory and Henry

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High School senior defensive lineman Cornelius Barber first pondered the thought of playing college football as a sophomore.
    Now, it’s a reality.
    Barber has made it official, signing with Emory and Henry College, an NCAA Division III school and member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, in Emory, Va.
    “I’m excited,” said Barber. “It is going to be a great adventure. It’s going to be different from Indian Land, but I’m ready.”

  • Murphy to play at Ithaca College

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High School star student and football player Alex Murphy was looking for the unique combination to top-notch academics and football for his future school.
    He found it in Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y.
    Murphy, a four-year starter for the Warriors, is taking his game to the NCAA Division III school, which competes in the Liberty League.

  • Girls prep soccer Lady Jackets...

    The Buford High School girls’ soccer team stayed unbeaten in Region IV-AA play with a 5-0 home win over county rival Andrew Jackson High School on Thursday night.
    Marisa King, on an assist from Emma Larson, tallied to give BHS a 1-0 lead at the half.
    The Lady Jackets, 7-3, 4-0 in region play, broke open the match in the second half with four goals.
    Chaney Smith, on an assist from Larson, tallied two goals. Smith was assisted by Izzy Jones for her second goal.

  • Volunteers down Lions, 3-1

    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson captured a 3-1 home baseball win over Lewisville High School in dramatic fashion on Thursday night.
    Volunteers senior designated hitter Brett Percival blasted a two-run home run to lift AJ to the Region IV-AA win over the Lions in eight innings.
    Connor Killough reached on an error ahead of Percival, who belted a 2-2 pitch for the game-winning homer in the walk-off win.

    Munn and Caskey have put LMS back on the map not just in the Carolinas dirt racing scene, but across the country with big races produced every Saturday night at the half-mile oval.

  • Cubs to face Braves Sunday

    The Lancaster Cubs open defense of their Community All-Star Baseball League title with a home game with the Shelton Braves at 4 p.m. Sunday at Eggleton Field in Lancaster.
    The Cubs travel to Jenkinsville Saturday for a prime time game at Lake Monticello at 6:30 p.m.
