    Sumter played the spoiler, knocking the Lancaster all-stars out of the Dixie Boys 14 state tournament at Aiken’s Citizens Park on Thursday, July 25.

    Lancaster, coming off a dramatic 12-10 win over Aiken, was the lone tournament unbeaten, while Sumter had one loss in the double-elimination field.

    The Lancaster Dixie Boys 14 all-stars stayed unbeaten in the state tournament in Aiken, topping McLeod Park of Florence, 13-8 Monday, July 22.

    Lancaster, 3-0 in the field, tallied four runs in the top of the seventh, with Spencer Funderburk lacing a two-run double to highlight a key four-run frame.
