  • Fast-starting AJ girls pelt Lady...

     

    KERSHAW – The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers cruised to a second straight lopsided home win to cap non-region play Friday, January 10.

    The Lady Vols, No. 7 in the latest Class AA girls state poll, routed McBee, 66-30 after burying North Central, 64-4 on Tuesday night.

  • Lady Bruins ignite, roll

     

    FORT MILL – Coach Ronnie Robinson’s words to his team at halftime were to get moving.

    The Lady Bruins responded to post their fifth straight win – a 63-40 road basketball victory over Nation Ford High School of Fort Mill in the Falcons’ gym on Friday, Jan. 10.

  • Volunteers sweep Knights at home

     

    Andrew Jackson opened the 2014 portion of its 2013-14 basketball schedule with a sweep of visiting North Central on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

    The Lady Volunteers, ranked seventh in the latest Class AA girls state poll, rolled to a 64-4 win over the Lady Knights.

  • Lady Bruins club Clover

     

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins continue to roll, while the LHS boys are still looking for their first region win of the 2013-14 hoops campaign.

    The Lancaster High School girls, 6-4, extended their region mark to 3-0 in the LHS region home opener with Clover, 58-35 on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

    Hanging Rock Kartway featured exciting action at the track on Saturday, Dec. 28.

    The action opened with the EL Heavy class.When the green flag dropped it would be No. 14 Benji Scott leading the field. Scott led flag to flag for the win.

    The Indian Land Warriors posted a 5-4 record in the Border War Duals at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill where the event was held Jan. 3-4.

  • Lancers open practice Jan. 13

     

    The University of South Carolina Lancers’ baseball team will open practice for the 2014 season on Monday, Jan. 13 at the Lancaster High School baseball field.

  • Warriors 2nd in tourney

     

    The Indian Land Warriors finished second in the Holy Angels Basketball Classic tournament, but IL coach Nate Smith is far from disappointed.

    The Warriors, the lone team from the Palmetto State at the Charlotte, N.C., three-day tournament, went 2-1 in a solid field.

  • Mahaffey feels young Jackets...

     

    The Buford High School wrestling team sports a 2-7 record, but Jackets’ veteran coach John Mahaffey said he feels his team is making progress on the mat.

    The Jackets, who started 0-3, have come on to go 2-4 in their last two outings.
