  • Bailey wins annual Bruins 5K

    Staff Reports
Buford High School assistant football coach and track coach Jareth Bailey ran a 19:46 to win the annual Run with the Bruins 5K road race at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Bailey’s effort topped a 152-runner field by some 26 seconds over his nearest challenger.
“It is a good course, but it was not a good race for me,” Bailey said. “I ran my worst time since the beginning of last summer. I just could not run at my normal race pace for some reason. I did not start fast enough and I had to surge at the end to win.”
