AJ’s Funderburk signs with Newberry

KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson High School senior kicker Avery Funderburk is kicking his way to college.
Funderburk, the Volunteers’ all-region kicker, is headed to Newberry College to kick for the Wolves.
Funderburk signed with Newberry on Feb. 6, college football’s national signing day.
He noted several reasons for picking Newberry, a NCAA Div. II school and member of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
Newberry is guided by Todd Knight, a Lancaster County native who played high school football at Buford High School.
