  • Faith Funderburke Realty sponsors LMS car show/open practice Saturday

    Lancaster Motor Speedway drivers, fans and staff members are gearing up for Saturday at the half-mile dirt track.
    Lancaster Motor Speedway will host its annual car show sponsored by Faith Funderburke Realty LCC.
    Mrs. Funderburke has been a loyal sponsor for years at LMS, and this year she is sponsoring the car show, Super Stock Division and Thunder Bomber Division.
    Faith will sponsor the top three trophies in each division for the car show – Best In Show Award.
    During the car show, the Lancaster Motor Speedway points banquet will be held.

  • Cherokee Speedway to cap Madness March racing today

    Cherokee Speedway will wrap up the annual Gigi Strong March Madness today at the Gaffney dirt track.
    Racing action today will be headlined by the Southern All-Stars Series, paying $12,000 to win and $600 to start the race.
    The Cherokee Speedway racing card today will also feature the SECA 604 Crate Late Models $1,200 to win, Crate Sportsman $700, Stock 4 $700, and Thunder Bomber $700.
    Track gates are scheduled to open at 10 a.m.
    The driver’s meeting is at 12:30 p.m. with racing to follow.

  • Hanging Rock Kartway returns to action Saturday

    Hanging Rock Kartway had another rained out race Saturday, and now HRK has a new race set Saturday.
    The Saturday schedule will have the Clone Classes of Clone 325 paying $200 to win, Clone 350 $300, Clone 375 $500, Clone 425 $500, Clone 425 $500, Amateur Clone 350 $100. Predator classes are Predator 325 $200, Predator 350 $300, Predator 375 $500, Predator 425 $200. Amateur Clone 350 $100. Junior Classes Red Plate, Jr. 1 Green Plate/Small Pipe, Jr. 2 Purple Plate/Small Pipe, Jr. 3 Blue Plate/Small Pipe, Jr. Predator II, Pee Wee Predator, Champ 425 Predator, FH 375.

  • LMS slates annual car show, open practice, points banquet March 9

    The 2019 Lancaster Motor Speedway racing season officially begins in less than a month.
    This day – March 9 – is going to be busy for the drivers, staff and fans of LMS with an all-day event.
    The day begins at 11 a.m. with the annual Lancaster Motor Speedway car show in the grandstand parking lot off Shiloh Unity Road.
    The car show has been a huge event for Lancaster Motor Speedway for many years as the half-mile dirt track is the only track around that does a car show like this.

  • Cherokee Speedway opens 2019 racing season Sunday

    Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney will open its 2019 racing season Sunday afternoon.
    The Cherokee Speedway racing card will feature the Burns Chevrolet Late Models, Joe’s Towing Limited Sportsman, Terry Worley Renegade, Axles Plus Crate Sprotsman, C&M Automotive Thunder Bomber, Mechanical Edge Stock 4, Carolina Driveline Young Guns 4-Cylinders and Smokin BBQ Extreme 4.
    Cherokee Speedway track officials are expecting a packed house and race cars as this is the first race to happen in the Carolinas for the 2019 racing season.

  • Pepsi Night to open LMS 2019 racing season

    One of Lancaster Motor Speedway’s biggest sponsors will open up the 2019 dirt track racing season in grand style March 15-16.
    Pepsi has been a major sponsor at Lancaster Motor Speedway for years.
    The Pepsi Night action  opens Friday, March 15, with the first of two nights of racing headlined by the SECA Crate Late Models.
    The race will have a full show, paying $1,000 to win.
    The opening night at LMS also has the Super Stock, SECA Crate Sportsman, Renegade, Pure Stock V8, Extreme 4 and Vintage set to roll.

  • Hanging Rock Kartway hosts Top Gun Championship

    The Top Gun Championship Series, presented by Browns Karts and Parts, will continue at Hanging Rock Kartway on Saturday.
    Racing will be the Clone Classes of Clone 325 paying $200 to win, Clone 350 $500 to win, Clone 375 Top Gun $500, Clone 425 Top Gun $500, Clone 425 $300, Amateur Clone 350 $100, Amateur Clone 350 Trophy.
    Predator Classes of Predator 325 $200, Predator 350 $500, Predator 375 Top Gun $500, Predator 425 Top Gun $300, Predator 425 $200, Amateur Predator 350 $100, Amateur Predator 350 Trophy.

  • Curtis has big night at Hanging Rock Kartway

    Emma Curtis highlighted the action at Hanging Rock Kartway on Feb. 9 in the  Top Gun Championship Series 9.
    Curtis captured two wins in the Amateur Predator 350 Trophy and Amateur Predator 350.
    The Red Plate Trophy went to Alexis Vasser, with the second Red Plate Trophy going to Connor Langley.
    Clay Bellamy captured the win in Jr. 1 Top Gun and was second in the Jr. 1 main event.
    Trace June won the Jr. 2 and then Jr. 2 Top Gun.

  • Winged Outlaw Sprint Cars here this season

    One of the most popular races throughout the Lancaster Motor Speedway racing year has been when the USCS Winged Outlaw Sprint Cars visit the half-mile dirt oval at LMS.
    The racing machines fly around LMS, reaching speeds up to over 140 mph.
    Speedway fans need to mark July 20 on their calendars as the USCS Winged Outlaw Sprint Cars will be here that night.
    Some of the drivers never lift off the throttle as they flat-foot it around the track.

  • Top Gun Championship Series Saturday

    Hanging Rock Kartway will host the Top Gun Championship Series on Saturday.
    Classes running will be Clone 325, Clone 350, Clone 375, Clone 425, Amateur Clone 350, Predator 325, Predator 350, Predator 375 and Predator 425.
    Junior classes running are Red Plate Clone, Jr. 1 Green Plate/small pipe, Jr. 2 Purple Plate/small pipe, Jr. 3 Blue Plate/small pipe, Pee Wee Predator, Jr. Predator 1 and Jr. Predator 2.
    Hanging Rock Kartway is located on 1082 Horton Rollins Road in Kershaw.
    Gates open at 9 a.m.
