  • LCST Sharks down Camden in road win
      The Lancaster County Sharks swim team stayed unbeaten on the recreation swim season at 5-0, taking a 368-153 win over host Camden on Saturday, June 21. The Lancaster County swimmers were led by Tamra Tipton, Charlee Brooke Henry and Jonathan Wade with four firsts each.
  • Ozone NL stars unbeaten; AL rebounds to stay alive
      The Lancaster National League Ozone all-stars stayed unbeaten in the Dixie Youth District 2 tournament at Gaffney, taking a 22-3 win over Union on Monday, June 23. The Lancaster NL tallied 12 runs in the first inning and added 10 runs in the second inning on the way to the 19-run win.
  • Sharks top Rays in storm-shortened meet
          The Lancaster County Sharks upped their record to 4-0 on the season with a storm-shortened 144-47 win over the Kershaw Stingrays on Thursday, June 19.
  • Juniors rally for 9-8 win
     The Lancaster American Legion Post 31 junior baseball team came all the way back to take a 9-8 road win over Rock Hill Post 34 on Monday, June 23. The Lancaster juniors, down 7-1 after the opening inning, rallied late to post the one-run win.
  • Sharks cruise to home win over Chester Waves
      The Lancaster County Sharks improved to 3-0 on the recreation swim season with a 390-107 home win over the Chester Waves at the Lancaster County Pool. Tamra Tipton, Charlee Brooke Henry and Simon Wright each posted four firsts in the Sharks’ victory.
  • Walters wows golf fans at Carolina Lakes
      INDIAN LAND – Golf fans at the Carolina Lakes Golf Club at Sun City in Indian Land received a free links treat  June 11. Handicapped golfer Dennis Walters brought his show of demonstration and motivation to the Carolina Lakes driving range that afternoon.
  • Play's tight in LJGA 10-12
      The boys 10-12 age group is shaping up to be a highly competitive group in the 2014 Lancaster chapter of the S.C. Junior Golf Association. The boys 10-12, which sports the largest group of junior golfers with 16 in the Lancaster chapter, saw a tie at the top for the second straight week.
  • CPTC earns 78 medals at regional meet
      The Columbus Parker Track Club earned 78 medals and qualified 30 athletes to compete in the Regional Meet at Twelve Oaks Stadium in Hampton, Ga. June 25-29. The club wishes to thank all of their donors with the J. Marion Sims Foundation, the club’s primary funding source.
  • CCA honors top athletic performers
      Carolina Christian Academy honored top Cougars athletes for the 2013-14 school term May 8 when CCA coaches, parents and team members gathered at the school’s Wachovia Commons. Those present were treated to a meal catered by La Chapula.
  • Nationals net district title
      The Lancaster Dixie Youth AA star team, ages 7-8, will be representing S.C. District 2 in the state tournament. The Lancaster National League All Star team defeated Union 16-6 in the championship game Wednesday night.
