  • Post 31 returns to play Monday night
      The Lancaster Post 31 American Legion baseball team will return to play Monday, June 15 when it ventures to Rock Hill Post 34 for a 7 p.m. League V game. Lancaster, 2-2, has been idle for two weeks due to high school graduation in Lancaster and York counties.
  • Rangers select Pelham
      C.D. Pelham knows the drill and what’s ahead for the former Lancaster High School baseball star. Pelham, for the second straight year, was drafted in the annual Major League Baseball Draft.
  • Springdale Complex sports major facilities upgrade
      The Springdale Baseball/Softball Complex has a new look. Lancaster County Parks and Recreation has  to announced the Springdale Baseball/Softball Complex, 260 South Plantation Road, has received a face lift and improvements to better serve Lancaster County residents.
  • Chesser shines in Senior Games
      Former Lancaster High School athlete John Chesser has still got it. Chesser, who played football, basketball and baseball at Lancaster High where he graduated in 1950, recently displayed his athletic prowess at the Gaston County, N.C., Parks and Rec Senior Games series.
  • Sowell leads play in LJGA opener
      Mason Sowell paced the links effort as the Lancaster chapter of the S.C. Junior Golf Association opened its 2015 tournament season at the Kershaw Golf Club on Monday, June 8. Sowell shot an even par 72 (35-37) over 18 holes from the white tees with three birdies to top the boys 13-14 division at the KGC.
  • Lancaster swimmers hold meet
      The Lancaster Sharks held a mock swim meet to prepare for the 2015 LST recreation swim season. Saturday, June 6. Lancaster opened its season at Kershaw on Tuesday, June 9.
  • Founding Leadership builds
        The third annual Founding Leadership provided aspiring coaches vehicles to develop their careers through the experience of others who have traveled a similar path over their careers.
  • ‘Team Walters’ prevails
      In the most competitive tournament in its history, four teams tied at 15-under, with the winner in the Fore the Kids Golf tournament determined by a scorecard playoff. “Team Walters” prevailed in the card playoff at Edgewater Golf Club on Friday, May 29.
  • CPTC earns 19 medals at meet
      The Columbus Parker Track Club earned 19 medals at the Greenville Jets Invitational track meet at Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville earlier this spring. The team, a Lancaster area youth track team, competed in a field of 1,200-plus athletes at the Greenville area meet.
  • P-31 tops York in 3-2 win
      The Lancaster Post 31 baseball team evened its record at 2-2, rallying for a 3-2 comeback win over host York Post 66 on Thursday, May 28. Lancaster opened the season with two losses, but rebounded to defeat Clover and York to square its League V Legion baseball record.
