  • Deputy coroner identifies victim

    Authorities have released the name of a woman killed Thursday, April 24, in an officer-related shooting along a stretch of Grace Avenue. 

    Lancaster County Deputy Coroner Tony Broome confirmed Friday, April 25, that Ingrid Linda Mayer, 55, 1102 Hampton Grace Ave., died following the early morning shooting. 

  • Jury finds Sam Parker guilty

    CHESTERFIELD – Former Chesterfield County Sheriff Sam Parker was found guilty on all eight counts against him and will serve at least two years in prison.

    “Today is a sad day in my life,” Parker said, in addressing the Circuit Court Judge Lee Alford and the court. 

    “I respect the verdict…I apologize to Chesterfield County and what I put this county through.”

    A Lancaster man was arrested Friday, April 18, for indecent exposure at a Lancaster convenience store. 

    The arrest came less than 24 hours after police released a series of surveillance photos in the hopes of finding a serial flasher, though its unknown if the cases are related.

  • Burglars assault county homeowner

    Investigators are searching for at least two men involved in a botched burglary that left a Lancaster man injured Monday afternoon, April 7. 

    Deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of Doster Road at 4:10 p.m. following a 911 call about a burglary in progress, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office press release.

    A Lancaster man caught on a store surveillance camera trying to shoplift was arrested this week on multiple charges, including a fugitive warrant from Florida. 

  • Police investigating possible carjacking

    Police are looking for more information in the possible carjacking of a man outside a Lancaster gas station early Tuesday morning, March 25.

    Officers were called to the lobby of the police department at about 5 a.m. Tuesday after a man arrived to report a carjacking, according to a Lancaster Police Department incident report.

    A Lancaster man faces two alcohol-related charges after he allegedly passed out behind the wheel while waiting in a car rider line at a county elementary school on Wednesday, March 26, to pick up a child.

    Michael Douglas Hammond, 35, 1285 West Shore Drive, was charged with public drunkeness and an open container violation, according to a Lancaster Sheriff’s Office incident report,
