    Dr. Eddie Dean Montgomery, 60, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.  
    He was the son of Juanita Barnes Montgomery and the late Theodore Montgomery.
    Survivors include a son, Anthony Montgomery of Crofton, Md.; a daughter, Danae Montgomery of Charlotte; his mother of Lancaster; two brothers, Bill Montgomery of Lancaster and Michael Montgomery of Charlotte.

    Nathaniel Drakeford, 58, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011.  
    He was the son of Carrie Izzard Drakeford and the late Lenson Drakeford.
    Survivors include four sons, Anthony Hough  and Antonio McCain of Forestville, Md., Marwin Drakeford of Camden, Nicholas Seegars of Kershaw; a daughter, Nicole Seegars of Heath Springs; his mother of Kershaw; a brother, Jerry White of New York; two sisters, Geneal Drakeford of Kershaw and Barbara Moore of Heath Springs; and five grandchildren.

    HEATH SPRINGS – Constance T. Thompson, 78, of Heath Springs, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.
    Born April 3, 1933, in Baltimore, Md., she was a daughter of the late Hal Defibaugh and the late Constance Wenskaitis Defibaugh. Mrs. Thompson was of the Catholic Faith and enjoyed genealogy, cross stitch, and reading.

    Morgan Leon Suggs Sr., 80, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at CMC Northeast in Concord, N.C.
    Born Nov. 24, 1931, in Americus, Ga., he was a son of the late Julian Simpson Suggs and the late Annie Mae Pope Suggs. Mr. Suggs was a member of Second Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He served our country in the U.S. Navy and was retired from State Farm Insurance Company.

    Larry Donathan “Donnie” Rollings, 58, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011.
    He was the son of Lucille Wallace Rollings and the late Earlie Rollings.
    Survivors include his mother; a daughter of Lancaster, Andrea Rollings of Lancaster; a brother, Mitchell Rollings of Lancaster; and a sister, Karen Funderburk of Lancaster.
    Graveside services were Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at High Point Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Joyner.
    Memorials may be made to High Point Baptist Church, 1888 Rocky River Road, Lancaster SC 29720.

    HEATH SPRINGS – Peggie Bowden Mingo of 4623 Willie Bayne Lane, Heath Springs, departed this life Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. She was a daughter of the late Frank Grady Bowden and the late Bessie W. Bowden. She was born Aug. 22,1947, in Great Falls.
    Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Paradise AME. Zion Church in Great Falls with Rev. Edward Jeter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Thursday prior to services.

    Patricia Ann Pearson Hilliard, 68, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011.
    She was the daughter of the late Marion Pearson and Inez Lathan Pearson.
    Survivors include seven stepsons; a stepdaughter, Angeline Sims of Kershaw; a brother, Michael Pearson of Great Falls; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
    Services were Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, in the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home.
