  • James Hazel 'Bug' Davis, 75

    James H. “Bug” Davis, 75, died, Sunday, June 17, 2012.  
    He was the son of the late Neal and Susie Stinson Davis. He was married to Clara Robinson Davis.
    Survivors include his wife of Catawba; a son, James A. Davis of Lancaster; two daughters, Etta Davis and Ishandra Davis of Catawba; a sister, Sadie Tidwell of Fort Lawn; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, in the chapel of Crawford Funeral Home.

    SPARTANBURG – Ruby West Yarboro, 94, formerly of Kershaw, died Thursday, June 7, 2012.
    She was the daughter of the late John Abner and Molly Kennington West.
    Survivors include a sister, Margaret Freeman of Easley; and five grandchildren.
    Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Kershaw City Cemetery. The Rev. Bryant Fersner will officiate.

    KERSHAW – Funeral services with Military Rites for Bobby Richard Phillips will be held  Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m., at Baker Conference Center with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery.     George Franklin Morton, 87 widower of Marcene Morton, died Tuesday June 12, 2012, in Charleston, surrounded by his family.
    George F. Morton was born Sept. 10, 1924 in Lancaster.
    He was the youngest of nine siblings born to Ellen Evans and T. H. Morton Sr.

    Josephine Barnes Mobley, 83, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012.  
    She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Craig Barnes.
    Survivors include four sons, Jonathan Mobley of Richburg, Wilbert “Zero” Mobley, Glendale Mobley and Wayne Mobley, all of Lancaster; three sisters, Katherine Stevens of Lancaster, Annie Lee Montague of Philadelphia and Louise Bryant of Webster, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren

    Willie James Blair, 69, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
    He was the son of the late Allen and Margaret Frazier Blair. He was married to the Rev. Betty Robinson Blair.
    Survivors include his wife of Lancaster; one son, Pastor James D. Blair of Lancaster; four daughter, Pastor Sharon B. Mingo, Betty A. Truesdale, Aretha B. Anthony, all of Lancaster, Amelia B. Moore of Charlotte; four sisters, Margaret Hughes, Emma Curry, Diane Strain, Patricia Cauthen, all of Lancaster; one brother, Allen Blair Jr. of Lancaster.

    She was the daughter of the late Julius D. Robinson and Ida Montgomery Robinson.
    Survivors include two sons, Thomas Broome of Waxhaw and Joey Broome of Wingate, N.C.; two grandsons; a granddaughter, Meredith Broome; and seven great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. today, June 13, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Steve Bateman, with burial in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
