    Richard “Dick” Holland Gates, 73
    Richard “Dick” Holland Gates, 73, died Dec. 18, 2011 at Kaiser Medical Center, Honolulu, HI. He was married to Chae Han "Melissa" Gates.
    He was the son of the late Charles Watson and Mabel Ingle Gates
    Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Julie Gates Hand; stepdaughters, Donna Boyadjin, Jeanie Miyake and Tammy Suh; stepson, Sang Woo Kim; and 11 grandchildren, all of Hawaii.

    Katherine Robinson Evans, 91, widow of L.C. Evans, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at White Oak Manor. She was born May 2, 1920 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Arthur Robinson and Pearl Taylor Robinson. Mrs. Evans had retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Second Baptist Church. She had been a member of Lancaster Senior Citizens and Second Baptist Church Senior Citizens.

    FORT MILL – Jackie Lashon Craine, 34, of 141 Webb Miller Drive passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center.
    The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 11, 2012, at Mount Zion AME Zion Church in Lancaster with the Rev. George C. Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.
    Born in Chester County on July 6, 1977, she was the daughter of Linda L. Greene Craine and John Earl Stevenson. She was a member of Loving Charity Baptist Church and a 1996 graduate of Lancaster High School.

    Annie Mae Coleman, 82
    Annie Mae Coleman, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012  
    She was the daughter of the late Deulah Gaither.
    Survivors include two daughters, Iola Coleman of Lancaster, Annie Coleman Willifore of Holt, Mich.; two sons, James M. Coleman and John Coleman of Lancaster; and a niece she reared, Beulah B. Crockett of Lancaster.
    Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at Mount Calvary AME Zion Church, conducted by the Rev. Dorothy Wallace, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.

    FORT LAWN – Sally Faye Mims Caskey, 78, wife of P. M. “Shorty” Caskey passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Patrick and Rose Eva Garland Mims. Mrs. Caskey was retired from Springs Industries where she worked as a bookkeeper.
    A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Caskey was Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at El Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryson Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh ARP Church Cemetery.

  • Dale Richard ‘D.B.’ Bradley, 57

    Dale Richard “D.B.” Bradley, 57, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
    He was the son of the late Coleman Lee Bradley and Minnie Lee Monroe Bradley.
    Survivors include his wife, Jan S. Bradley; three sons, Dale C. Bradley of Kershaw, Travis Taylor of Charlotte and Phillip Taylor of Lancaster; two brothers, Dana “Booger” Bradley of Lancaster and Danny Lee Terry of Kershaw; two sisters, Darri Bradley of Lancaster and Donna Helms of Graham, N.C.; and nine grandchildren.

    KERSHAW – Funeral services for Irene Blackwell Montgomery Kennington, 96, will be held at 3 p.m., today, Jan. 8, 2012, in New Haven Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Charlesboro Baptist Church Cemetery. The  Revs. Todd Montgomery and Robert Jeske will officiate.

    BATESBURG – Sybil Staley Chaney Keisler, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 8, 2012, at First Calvary Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with the Revs. Tim Sanders, Mendle Baker and Larry Patterson officiating. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
    Mrs. Keisler was born in Mebane, N.C., daughter of the late Robert Leander Staley and Beulah Mae Wiles Staley. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

    GREAT FALLS – Bobby Ray Outen, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital.  The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Westside Baptist Church in Lancaster with the Rev. Todd Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Westside Baptist Church.
