    HEATH SPRINGS Sarah Bowers Faile, 94, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007.

    Born Aug. 16, 1913, in Heath Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles Dixon Faile and Ella Jane Phillips Faile. She was married to the late Boyd Faile. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a graduate of Flat Creek High School.She was retired from Springs Industries after 33 years of service.

    GREAT FALLS Ruby Neal McKeown, 91 died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007.

    Born April 3, 1916 in Union, she was the daughter of the late Morris Alexander Neal and Lona Robbins Neal. She was married to the late Lee Max McKeown. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and served in the bomb plant in Oak Ridge, Tenn., during World War II. She was formerly employed with J.P. Stevens Company and was the co-owner of M&M Truck Stop in Great Falls. A member of Heath Chapel, she served as church co-organist for 30 years. She was the widow of Lee Max McKeown.

    Benjamin Franklin Frank Faile, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007.

    Born Aug. 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Azilee Sullivan Faile. He was married to the late Sybil Starnes Faile. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from Springs Mills in 1983. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

    KERSHAW Charles Wayne Coates, 47, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007.

    Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Charles Ervin and Mable Payne Coates. He was retired from Archer Daniels Midland Co. and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church.

    Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Coates and her finance, Leon Lewis, both of Lancaster, Brittanie Coates of Rock Hill; a sister, Pattie Estridge of Kershaw; and three grandchildren, Natalie Lewis, Jillian Lewis and Mason Lewis.

    WAXHAW – Sarah Louise Laney, 86, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007.

    Born July 14, 1921, in Union County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late William David and Nettie Neill Todd. She was married to Jesse Thomas Laney. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lancaster, where she taught Sunday school. She was a retired bookkeeper for Park-In-Shop in Charlotte.

    Survivors includes two sons, Thomas David Laney and Eddie Wayne Laney, both of Waxhaw; and a half brother, Gene Todd of Lancaster.
