  • Christopher and Brenda Burns celebrate 54 years

    Christopher Harper Burns and Brenda Cauthen Burns celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on May 10, 2018. 

    They have one son, Christopher Tyron Burns, and a Goddaughter, Tina Catoe Ross, both of Camden. 

    They had brunch at Camden Waffle House on Highway 521, their favorite place to eat.

  • Douglas and Esther Horton celebrate 60 years

    Douglas Garland and Esther Lee Wolfe Horton celebrated their 60th anniversary on April 6, 2018. 

    A reception was given in their honor on April 15, 2018, by their children, Ricky Horton and his wife, Ann, Chet Horton and his wife, Ami, and Jill Horton Lowe and her husband, David. 

    The Hortons were married April 6, 1958, in Kershaw. 

    They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

    Douglas retired from National Linen Service in Columbia.

    Esther retired from Kendall-Bethune and Lancaster County.

  • Vincent-Pentecost Engagement

    Dale and Fran Vincent of Heath Springs announce the engagement of their daughter, Chelsea Elyse Vincent to Prentiss Jacob Pentecost, both of Rock Hill.

    The wedding is planned for April 28, 2019 in Lancaster.

    Miss Vincent is the granddaughter of Bernadine C. King of Lancaster and the late James C. King Jr., and the late Benjamin and Corrie Vincent, of Kershaw. She is a 2014 graduate of the University of South Carolina. She is a S.C. DHEC environmental health manager for the Division of Food Protection.

  • White Anniversary

    Floyd L. White II and Gloria White are celebrating their 60th anniversary Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

    They were married April 25, 1958, at Fort Rucker in Alabama.

    The Whites have three children, Donna White Bailey and her husband, Dennis, of Lancaster, Floyd White III and his wife, Bonnie, of Laurel, N.J., and Berry White and his wife, Cindy, of Glendale, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

    He is a retired coach and science teacher and she is a retired plant manager.

  • Douglas-Clyburn Engagement
    Henry L. Curry announces the engagement of his daughter, Yokoco Douglas, to James Clyburn, all of Lancaster.
    The wedding is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Lancaster.
    Miss Douglas is the daughter of the late Debra D. Douglas and the granddaughter of the late Mary C. and Joe L. Douglas of Great Falls and the late Jessie Curry and Elmer Manning.
  • Langley-Moree Engagement

    Joyce and Phil Forbis and Vernon and Martha McManus, all of Lancaster announce the engagement of their daughter, Donna McManus Langley, of Heath Springs to David Alexander Moree of Kershaw.

    The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Chapel at Andrew Jackson State Park.

    Ms. Langley is the granddaughter of the late Ira and Margaret McManus of Lancaster and the late Donald and Lillian Branner of Charlotte. She is a graduate of Lancaster High School. She is the municipal clerk for the Town of Heath Springs.

  • Willard-Hammond Engagement
    Scott and Teresa Willard of Chester announce the engagement of their daughter, Melia Joye Willard, to Khoury Lynn Hammond, both of Rock Hill.
    The wedding is planned for 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at the Dairy Barn in Fort Mill.
    Miss Willard is a 2004 graduate of Chester High School and a 2008 graduate of Lander University with a degree in business administration. She is a project control specialist with Duke Energy.
  • Snipes-Steele Wedding

    Haley Anne Snipes and Samuel Edgar Steele were married at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, in the garden of the Magnolia Room in Rock Hill, by the groom’s father, the Rev. John Dale Steele.

    The bride is the daughter of William Thomas Snipes and Sharon Harper Snipes of Lancaster. She is the granddaughter of Jacqueline Snipes and Charles Edward Snipes and the late Sally Ann Harper and late Bart Harper, all of Lancaster. 

  • Burnside-Riggins Engagement

    Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bethea Burnside announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Catherine Burnside to Jeffrey Wilton “Wil” Riggins Jr., all of Columbia.

    The wedding is planned for July, 2018 in Columbia.
