Holt charged with child neglect, drug possession

The woman who was wounded in last Thursday's fatal Kershaw shooting has been identified and arrested.
Jody Linn Holt, 30, of Kershaw, was arrested at the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Thursday and has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and unlawful neglect of a child.
Holt and Vincent Barry Lambert Jr. were both shot on Pine Ridge Drive in Kershaw May 10 with their 4-year-old son in the backseat. Holt was severely injured, and Lambert did not survive. The child was unhurt.
The three suspects arrested this week for the murder of Lambert and the attempted murder of Holt and her son are Dorian Tyrese Clyburn, 16, Ka’Darius Aintwayn Kirkland, 19, and Brennan Jamil Patterson Jr., 17.
According to the sheriff’s office, Holt and Lambert arranged a meeting with one of the suspects on Pine Ridge Drive intending to sell one of the suspects illegal drugs. Once at the meeting location, the three suspects attempted to rob Holt and Lambert of the drugs, and shots were fired.
Investigators later found the drugs that they say Holt attempted to hide immediately following the shooting.
The sheriff’s statement said Holt’s decision to take her son to the alleged drug deal placed him at unreasonable risk of harm.
Holt is jailed at the Lancaster County Detention Center on a $22,000 surety bond.
