Due to the weather conditions predicted for Saturday, April 19, the City of Lancaster’s Rosie’s Easter Egg Hunt has been postponed until Sunday afternoon, April 20.

Caroline Hasty, events and promotions manager for See Lancaster SC, said the change was made due to the 80 percent chance of forecast tonight, April 18, and a 60 percent chance on rain forecast Saturday morning.

The event, which drew more a crowd of more than 1,500 in 2013, was originally set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

“We really didn’t want to do this, but felt it was the right thing to do,” Hasty said. “We have 6,000 eggs and 30 wonderfully decorated baskets from our local businesses.”

The Easter egg hunt, for kids ages 10 and under, is 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday at Lancaster County Fairgrounds, 823 Kershaw Camden Highway.

“We hope that folks will come join us for plenty of fun after they commemorate Easter,” Hasty said. “We hope that this year’s change will make Easter Sunday more wonderful. Bring your family and friends.”
