Sheriff reviewing circumstances of man’s killing

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office remains tight-lipped about the ongoing investigation into the early Monday shooting death of a Lancaster man at a home near Erwin Elementary School.

Lancaster County Coroner Karla Deese identified the victim as Jamey Randal McCants, of 929 Confederate Ave.

According to a sheriff’s office release, McCants, 44, was shot once in the upper torso at a home on Maplewood Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene at 1:20 a.m. Monday, according to a media release from the sheriff’s office.
