A.R. Rucker Middle School celebrated a banner athletic year with the annual Rams’ athletic awards on Wednesday, April 24.

The Lancaster middle school honored student-athletes in five sports during the event in the Rucker cafeteria.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of pictures of two unbeaten basketball teams, which will be displayed in the Rams’ gym as Rucker athletic director Brett Blackmon said, “forever.”

The teams received a standing ovation for their hardwood accomplishments during the 2012-13 season.

The unbeaten Rams’ boys team, which like the girls went 12-0, honored three standouts.

Nehemiah McGriff won the Offensive Player Award.

Cordarious Tinsley received two awards – Academic Award and Coaches Award.

C’Darious Catoe reaped the Rams Pride Award.

In girls basketball, four standouts were saluted during the Lady Rams awards.

Zaria Woods earned the Academic Award and Qa’Brisha Sanders received the team’s Defensive Award.

Tomeshiona Jackson was presented the Rams Pride Award.

Keiana Howze received the Coaches Award.
