Indian Land’s biggest proposed shopping center, the Promenade at Carolina Reserve, will break ground next week.

Tennessee-based developer Hutton, which is building the shopping center for Lennar Corp., announced last week that it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 26.

The Promenade at Carolina Reserve will have about 280,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, as well outparcels for future development. It will occupy 83 acres at the corner of U.S. 521 and Jim Wilson Road, across from Carolina Commons shopping center and Sun City Carolina Lakes.

Confirmed tenants include Burlington, Hobby Lobby, ULTA, TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, Kirkland’s, Five Below, Petco, Starbuck’s and Panera Bread. Construction should begin promptly after the groundbreaking, and the first stores should open in fall 2018.
