Pinetuckett to perform at ASJP on Friday

The bluegrass gospel music group, Pinetuckett, above, will be in concert at 6:30 p.m. today at Andrew Jackson State Park amphitheater. The concert is free with park admission. Admission to the park is $2 adults; $1.25 for South Carolina seniors and free for ages 15 and younger.

Organized in the early 1970s, Pine-tuckett plays a variety of traditional bluegrass and gospel music. The group performs across the Carolinas at festivals, churches and private parties.

Members include Jerry Furr (mandolin, fiddle and vocals), Bill Ligon (lead guitar and vocals), the Rev. Ken Parsons (banjo and vocals), and Brady Greene (bass fiddle, guitar and vocals).

Pinetuckett has recorded four albums: “Church on Carmel Road,” “I’m Ready to Go,” “Time Has Made a Change” and “Homeward Bound.”

Andrew Jackson State Park is nine miles north of Lancaster on U.S. 521 at 196 Andrew Jackson Park Road. Its mission is to preserve and protect the site of Andrew Jackson’s boyhood home. Its attractions include a museum, a reproduction schoolhouse, trails, a campground and a fishing lake.
