Council on Aging meets 

The Board of Directors of the Lancaster County Council on Aging, Inc., will meet at 3:30 p.m. July 16 at the Prime Time for Seniors Senior Center, 309 S. Plantation Road, Lancaster.

County council meets July 16

The Lancaster County Council will hold a workshop prior to their council meeting on July 16. The workshop will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the County Council conference room at the County Administration Building, 101 N. Main St. The council meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers. 

Kershaw Town Council meets

The Kershaw Town Council meeting is 7 p.m. July 16 at Kershaw Town Hall, 113 S. Hampton St., Kershaw.

I&R meeting canceled

The Lancaster County Infrastructure and Regulation Committee meeting scheduled for July 17 has been canceled. The next meeting is 3 p.m. Aug. 14 at the county administration building, 101 N. Main St.

The Lancaster County Planning Commission’s next meeting is 6 p.m. July 17 in the Lancaster County Administration Building, 101 N. Main St. The scheduled workshop for this month has been canceled.

PV fire district board meets

The Pleasant Valley Fire Protection District Commission meets at 7 p.m. July 17 at the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department, 9370 Possum Hollow Road, Indian Land.

Heath Springs Town Council meets July 17

The Heath Springs Town Council meeting is 7 p.m. July 17 at Heath Springs Town Hall, 103 Duncan St., Heath Springs.

County school board to meet

Veterans Affairs town hall meeting

Joint Recreation Commission meets

The Lancaster County Joint Recreation Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Springdale Recreation Center, 260 S. Plantation Road, Lancaster. There is no meeting scheduled for July. The next meeting is Aug. 14.

Community relations commission meets

The Lancaster County Community Relations Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Lancaster County Administration Building, 101 N. Main St.

CCA offers help with energy bills

The Lancaster County Office of Carolina Community Actions Inc. is taking applications to help low-income families with home energy bills and other programs and services.

Family households must be income-eligible and provide supporting documents to qualify.

Candidates needed for Watershed Boards

Candidates are needed for the Cane Creek and Little Lynches Watershed Boards in the 2018 General Election. Voters in Lancaster County will elect four Watershed Directors, two for Cane Creek Watershed District and two for Little Lynches Watershed District.

Watershed directors must be registered voters and live in the watershed district. They serve four-year terms. They receive no salary or other compensation and are elected on a non-partisan basis.

To be placed on the ballot for election a Statement of Intention of Candidacy form must be filed with the County Election Commission office by noon Aug. 15.

Cane Creek Watershed Board candidates will submit their forms to the Lancaster County Election Commission Office and the Little Lynches Watershed Board candidates will submit their forms to the State Election Commission.
