Metzler-Garris Wedding

Jessica Lee Metzler and Michael Dillon Garris, both of Lancaster, were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Fellowship Bible Church of Lancaster, by Dr. Huey A. Mills and the Rev. Jesse Adams.

The bride is the daughter of David and Janet Metzler. She is the granddaughter of Vic and Linda Metzler and Julius and Joyce Bowers. 

She is a 2009 graduate of Carolina Christian Academy and a 2013 graduate of Bob Jones University with a bachelor’s degree. She is a Kindergarten teacher at Carolina Christian Academy.

The groom is the son of David Garris and the late Dana Garris. He is the grandson of Randall and Teresa Couch, Haselynn Garris and Robie and Joyce Garris. 

He is a 2014 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. He is a firefighter at Lancaster Fire Department and works part-time at Fastenal in Richburg.

The bride’s parents, David and Janet Metzler gave her in marriage.

Maid of honor was Julia Miles.

Bridesmaids were Olivia Boring, Shalin Duraiselvam and Kaitlyn Swim.

Best man was David Garris, father of the groom.

Groomsmen were Josh Alford, Justin McLellan and Josh Morris.

Flower girl was Pressley Cauthen.

The bride wore a soft white, off the shoulder gown with lace overlay and beading. It was accented by a beaded belt. 

She wore a fingertip veil, accented with crystals along the edge.

She carried a bouquet of peonies in fall colors, accented with a piece of the groom’s late mother’s wedding gown.

Music was provided by pianist Rachel Matthews and vocalists Lisa Waldrop and Mark Blackmon.

A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Gillis, aunt and uncle of the groom.

After a cruise to the Bahamas, the couple lives in Lancaster.
