Man sought in Pageland woman’s fatal shooting

PAGELAND – Authorities are searching for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Pageland woman that occurred late Wednesday night.
The victim, 18-year-old Amber Horton, went to the Pageland Police Department after she was shot in a moving car travelling down S.C. 151 south of Pageland, according to a Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office release.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the police department to investigate, and Horton was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe, where she was treated for a single gunshot wound to her upper torso. She later died as a result of her injuries at the hospital, the release said.
Witnesses told investigators that Ryu Deshawn Hough, 19, was seen following Horton and her friend down 151 in a dark blue Dodge Charger, according to the release.
Hough then fired several shots out of his driver’s side window, striking the passenger side of the other vehicle, the release said.
The sheriff’s office is seeking information on the whereabouts of Hough in connection to the shooting.
Hough is considered to be armed and dangerous, and authorities urge the public not to try to approach him. The investigation is ongoing.
