State trooper was attempting to stop vehicle for speeding on Riverside Road

A Lancaster man, with outstanding warrants in York County and wanted by S.C. Probation, Pardon and Parole Services, died from injuries Wednesday, June 25, after jumping from a speeding vehicle that a S.C. State trooper was trying to stop on Riverside Road.

Lancaster County Deputy Coroner Glen Crawford said Ronald Dale “Ronnie” Barrett Jr., 37, of 1536 Caskey Lane, was pronounced dead at the scene about 9 p.m. Wednesday. Crawford said Barrett died from blunt force trauma.
