Local man arrested in Fort Lawn raid

FORT LAWN – A team of bounty hunters alerted the Chester County Sheriff’s Office to a suspect who was wanted on a Horry County warrant, and when deputies went to arrest that man at a Fort Lawn residence, a raid ensued.

DeMarcus Jermaine Massey, 23, of 203 S. Market St., Lancaster,  was arrested Feb. 19.

A fugitive recovery team alerted the Chester County narcotics unit that Massey could be found at 529 B Carabrook Road, Fort Lawn.

When deputies arrived, they found Massey hiding in a crawl space in the house, a report said.

They also found 5 grams of marijuana, two Smith & Wesson revolvers and a Charter Arms revolver, the report said.

The latter pistol was reportedly stolen from Lancaster.

Seven others were charged in connection with the case. They are:

- Denise Davis Massey, 44, of 8090 Hightower Road, Fort Lawn, who was charged with harboring an escaped prisoner or fugitive.

- Rusell Kadeen Massey, 20, of 539 Carabrook Road, Fort Lawn, who was charged with harboring an escaped prisoner or fugitive.

- Corvis Dionta Gill, 22, of 2360 Barnes Road, Great Falls, who was charged with harboring an escaped prisoner or fugitive.

- Demario Antowine Massey, 22, of 6094 Hightower Road, Fort Lawn, who was charged with harboring an escaped prisoner or fugitive.

- Craig Thomas Davis, 46, of 200 B Market St., Lancaster, who was charged with harboring an escaped prisoner or fugitive.

- Traneisha Patrice Nesbitt, 21, of 1422 Shiloh Unity Road, Lancaster, who was charged with harboring an escaped prisoner or fugitive and possession of marijuana.

- Kasheena Sherese Davis, 19, of 593-B Carobrook Road, Fort Lawn, who was charged with harboring an escaped prisoner or fugitive and possession of marijuana.
