LMS opener features 2-night show

The first race of the 2018 season at Lancaster Motor Speedway is fast approaching.
The new LMS management has decided to make the first race one of the biggest races in years at the half-mile oval.
The 2018 opener will feature a two-day show, March 16-17.
On Friday night, March 16, divisions running will be SECA Crate Late Models paying $1,000 to win, Pure Stock V8 $400, Extreme 4 $400 and the Super Stock.
The SECA Crate Sportsman and Renegade will run heats only on Friday night.
After the racing is finished Friday night, the Carolina Clash Super Late Models will hold three rounds of practice.
On Saturday, March 17, divisions running include the popular Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series paying $5,000 to win.
In addition, the SECA Crate Late Models paying $1,200 to win will run along with the Crate Sportsman $700, Super Stock $700, Renegade $700, Extreme 4 $400 and Vintage $350.
Pit gates open Friday night at 4:30, with the grandstand gates to open at 5.
The drivers meeting begins at 7 p.m., and hot laps start at 7:20.
Admission prices for Friday night are $25 for the pits and $12 for the grandstands.
On Saturday night, the pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. The grandstand gates open at 4:30.
The drivers meeting is at 6 p.m., with laps at 6:20. Pits admission is $30, and $20 for the grandstands.
Two-day passes for the pits are $50, and $30 for the grandstands.
Lancaster Motor Speedway, which opened in 1954, is located at 223 Shiloh Unity Road.
From Lancaster, take U.S. 521 north to Shiloh Unity Road and turn right. Follow Shiloh Unity Road a short distance to the track on the left.
Parking is available in the grandstands parking area.
