$500k club renovation completed

By Robert Howey

The Lancaster Golf Club, a fixture in Upstate golf for eight decades, will re-open for play Thursday, July 26.
The south Lancaster 18-hole championship course, built in the late 1930s when what is now the front nine was constructed, has been closed for a major renovation since late spring.
The course’s front nine closed April 30, and the back side closed May 13.
Club pro Phil Small, who has served in that capacity for two stints totaling 17 years, said the renovation is a “great improvement.”
