Letter: Treasurer offers e-check option

-A A +A

Part of keeping the Lancaster County Treasurer’s Office taxpayer-friendly is coming up with new ways to make customer service faster, friendlier and more cost-effective.
The treasurer’s office will begin offering taxpayers an e-check service as a method to pay taxes. This service will simply charge a flat fee of $1.50 per payment. For many taxpayers, this would be a cheaper option for electronic payments than making credit card payments, which charge a fee of 2.6 percent on top of the payment. Both methods of payment will save taxpayers, especially those in outer areas such as Indian Land and Kershaw, time and money from having to come to the Treasurer’s Office in Lancaster.
This service is another step forward for county taxpayers, so visit the treasurer’s website for this service the next time you need to pay your taxes: www.mylancastersctax.org.  The service will also be available on our automated system at (888) 525-3661.
Anytime you have questions related to your county taxes, please feel free to reach out via email or come by our office at the County Administration Building in Lancaster. We’re always glad to help!
