Lady Jackets blank NCHS Knights

The Buford High School girls soccer team blanked North Central, 9-0 at the NCHS pitch on Tuesday night.
Marisa King led all scorers with 4 goals. Isabella Jones had two goals. Peyton Deese, Kalyn Stroud and Autumn Nivens each had one. Madison Funderburk and Karen Chappell combined for the shutout in goal.
The Lady Jackets booters improved to 4-1 with the region win. The BHS girls are 3-0 in region play.
Buford played at Camden on Thursday night.
Lady Warriors fall
Class AAAAA Northwestern High School prevailed in a tight soccer match win over Indian Land, winning 3-2 in penalty kicks in a match Tuesday at ILHS’s Warrior Stadium.
In regulation play, Northwestern’s Camryn Guest tallied, while Zoe McCarver tallied for the Lady Warriors on an assist from Sam Ammann.
IL, 1-5, in the shootout had goals from Ammann and Tatiana Ramirez. Bella Sikorski saved a shot for the Lady Warriors.
Sikorski had five saves in the match and Shelby Ryberg tallied three saves.
