A gag order has been imposed and records sealed in the high-profile capital murder case of a Chesterfield man charged with abducting and murdering a Kershaw woman in late 2011.
Nickolas Jermaine Miller, 25, of Jefferson, is charged with murder, kidnapping and first-degree criminal sexual conduct in the Dec. 26, 2011, death of Beverly Hope Melton, 30.
Prosecutors say Miller kidnapped, raped and beat Melton to death with a baseball bat after following her from a convenience store in Jefferson, where she’d stopped to buy gas en route to visit her grandmother.
