AJ sweeps North Central in hoops opener

By Dylan Knight

BOONETOWN – Andrew Jackson used a torrid fourth-quarter rally to post a sweep of North Central in the Vols’ opener on Tuesday night in Boonetown.

The Vols, down 29-24 after three periods, used a 24-13 final period run to take a 48-42 win over the Knights. AJ’s six-point win gave the Vols a sweep after the Lady Vols rolled to a 43-9 win.

AJ junior Ryan Miller, plagued by early foul problems, triggered the Vols, hitting 10 of his team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter. Miller netted eight free throws in the final period.
