By Robert Howey

Emily Cox’s clutch eagle putt soared her to a lofty perch she had long sought Tuesday afternoon.
Cox, an Andrew Jackson High School girls senior golfer competing as an individual in the Class AAA golf tournament at the Carolina Springs Golf Club in Fountain Inn, earned the coveted state medalist.
Cox, a prep golf competitor for six years, saved her best for last.
In her final hole of her final round as a prep golfer, Cox sank a clutch 15-foot eagle putt to give her the Class AAA individual state championship.
