Comporium Preseason Tournament opens play this Saturday

The annual Comporium Preseason Invitational, an area prep baseball tournament, will launch play Saturday at Buford High School.
The field features eight teams, four in each division. The AJ Division includes the host Volunteers, Central of Pageland, Chester and Lancaster.
The Buford Division has South Pointe High School of Rock Hill, Chesterfield, the Carolina Royals of Charlotte and the host BHS Jackets.
All games Saturday will be played at the BHS field.
Lancaster meets Chester at 10 a.m., followed by South Pointe vs. the Carolina Royals at 12:30 p.m.
A skills competition is set for 3 p.m.
Central battles Andrew Jackson at 4 p.m., with Chesterfield facing Buford at 6:30 p.m.
Play continues Monday with two games each at BHS and AJ.
Central meets Lancaster at 4:30 p.m., with Chester to play AJ at 7.
At Buford on Monday, play opens with the Carolina Royals facing Chesterfield at 4:30 p.m. Buford battles South Pointe at 7.
Games at AJ on Thursday have Central meeting Chester at 4:30, and Lancaster facing AJ at 7.
Games at Buford on Thursday will feature Chesterfield against South Pointe at 4:30 p.m., with the Royals meeting BHS at 7.
 AJ will host the final round on Saturday, March 2.
The seventh-place game is at 11 a.m., with the fifth-place game at 1:30 p.m. The third-place game is at 4 p.m., with the championship game at 6:30.
