Column: Graham seeks your vote in runoff

-A A +A

Iam Terry Graham and I am running for Lancaster County Council District 1.
I would like to thank all the voters who voted in the primary on June 14.
I received 46.1 percent of the vote, and the second place candidate received 22.42 percent. My support was broad-based, from both new and old residents. However, because I did not reach the 50 percent plus one threshold, there must be a runoff on June 28.
There is much confusion as to who can vote June 28. The Lancaster County Voter Registration Office informed me everyone who is a registered voter in District 1 can vote, regardless of party affiliation, whether or not they voted June 14.
I am the best candidate. My 20 years of experience as a plant manager in the corporate/manufacturing world allow me the ability to quickly assess a situation, listen to the people and find solutions that work. I have actively promoted Lancaster County through my current Lancaster County business, The Ivy Place and The Ivy Place Berries, by hosting events for garden clubs, Ag+Art Tours, Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Lancaster and the Katawba Valley Land Trust. The Ivy Place was one of the first farms listed in the South Carolina Agritourism Association.
I currently serve on the Lancaster County Zoning Appeals Board, where I have attended all but one meeting.
I am asking for your vote on June 28. We need to elect a County Council person who has strong support from all areas of District 1, so we can make northern Lancaster County the best place to live, work, raise a family and retire.
Thank you for your vote!
