‘Meet & Greet’ for kindergartners only is 2 p.m. Sunday

The scheduled school wide open house set for Thursday evening at Buford Elementary School has been postponed because of traffic/safety concerns along that stretch of North Rocky River Road.
Workers are still finishing the traffic loop and parking improvements.
The open house postponement, however, will not impact the parents-only orientation for 4- and 5-year-old kindergarten students. Those orientations are still 9 a.m. and noon Thursday at the Buford High School Multipurpose Building, 4290 Tabernacle Road. The kindergartner, said BES Principal Andrea Ribelin, does not attend orientation.
The parents of the kindergartners are also urged to attend the orientation session time listed on their child’s assignment postcard.
There will a “Meet & Greet” for kindergartners, as well as their parents, to get acquainted with teachers and staff and see their classrooms at 2 p.m. Sunday at the school, 1906 N. Rocky River Road.
Parents attending Sunday’s “Meet & Greet” should park in the Buford Middle School parking lot, 1890 N. Rocky River Road, or across the street from the middle school gym at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Ribelin said a school wide orientation will be set once construction wraps up.
