Bruins set for state meet

Lancaster High School has a host of athletes who have qualified for the Class AAAA state track meet.

The Bruins qualified at the state qualifier held at Sumter High School last Satuday.

The LHS girls are led by sophomore Tierra Belk, who ran a 12.45 to place eighth.

Belk also ran a leg on the seventh-place 4 x 100 relay. Belk, Quanie Simmons, Rekia Polk and Ashanti Talford ran a 49.47. The alternate is Mohongany Perry.

In the boys 400 dash, Frederick Thompson placed third in 49.75.

Thompson also ran a leg on the 4 x 400 relay which posted a 3:29.50.

Frederick Thompson is joined by Jaelen Harfield, Dontavious Blair and Kendrick Thompson. Jordan James is the alternate on the LHS 4 x 400 relay team.
