FORT LAWN – With spring comes the season of job fairs. While it is a relief when local businesses are hiring again, often the bigger challenge for job seekers is finding employment beyond the status of temporary or part-time.

This Thursday, the Fort Lawn Community Center will be packed with a variety of local business in the construction, manufacturing and administrative sectors of Chester and Lancaster counties. Job seekers should come dressed for a job interview with resume in hand.

“We are very pleased with the wide array of employers participating in this job fair,” said Leon Carter, SC Works Catawba Region business solutions manager. “Applicants can expect multiple employment opportunities from this group of employers.”

The job fair is open to the public and runs from 10 a.m.-noon, however anyone who has registered through SC Works and completed the “How to Work a Job Fair” workshop will have the opportunity to meet with employers an hour early, from 9-10 a.m.
