One arrest has been made in Thursday morning’s Kings Circle burglary and shooting, and authorities are on the hunt for three other suspects.
Aikiriea Okeishai Crockett, 21, was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree burglary and attempted murder. She is in custody at the Lancaster County Detention Center.
As of 5 p.m. Friday, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office was still searching for Malcolm Eugene Belk, 28, Danquinton Lamar Johnson, 27, and Travis Phillip Miller, 35, in connection with the incident. They each have arrest warrants for first-degree burglary, with other charges likely pending.
According to a sheriff’s office report, the 31-year-old victim was returning to his house at 1424 Kings Circle when he was shot.
He was on his way home from work when his roommate, who was also not home, told him their home-security alarm had been tripped.
The victim drove his car into an adjacent driveway where he saw the back door open and lights on in the home. He told investigators he never got out of his car, even after shots were fired.
The victim and his car were both struck. He immediately drove himself to Springs Memorial Hospital, and a neighbor called 911.
“We are glad the victim was not more seriously injured,” Sheriff Barry Faile said. “This incident was marked by extreme violence, and we need to get Belk, Johnson and Miller into custody as soon as possible. I encourage anyone with any information on their location or this incident to contact us.”
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the suspects is asked not to approach them, but to call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 283-3388 or contact Midlands Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
