Thornwell nets royal welcome

CHARLOTTE – The king of Lancaster hoops was in the Carolinas’ Queen City on Saturday night, receiving a royal welcome back to the area.
Sindarius Thornwell, the former Lancaster Bruins and South Carolina Gamecocks basketball star, got as close to home as he could Saturday night when his Los Angeles Clippers played in Charlotte against the Hornets at the Spectrum Center.
Thornwell, starting his fifth game in a row, played 30-plus minutes and scored five points and had three assists in front of a host of family and friends from Lancaster.
