  • USCL falls to Florence-Darlington Tech
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers fell to Florence Darlington Tech to close their regular-season schedule, dropping a 17-11 loss to the Stingers at the Lancaster High School baseball field on Saturday afternoon. Jonathan Sabo led a 12-hit attack with two hits, including a two-run home run and drove in three runs for the Lancers. Ryan Mason rapped two hits, including a solo home run, and drove home three runs. Lukas Ray supplied two hits in USCL’s six-run loss to the Stingers. Walt Ballentine had a hit and drove in two runs.
  • USCL Lancers take one win in weekend series
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers closed their weekend baseball series with a split Sunday with NJCAA Region X foe Florence Darlington Tech. USCL, 36-18, 17-11, fell to Florence Darlington Tech, 9-5. Jonathan Sabo paced the Lancers with three hits, including triple, and drove in a run. Christian Cain had two hits and two runs batted in. Lukas Ray posted two hits. Tyler Ackard had a hit and Evan Edwards had two RBIs.
  • USCL Lancers notch sweep of Louisburg
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers swept visiting Louisburg College (N.C.) in NJCAA Region X baseball play over the weekend. The Lancers, 34-15, improved to 16-8 in region play with the four wins at the Lancaster High School baseball field. The Lancers rolled to a 17-7 win to wrap up the four wins on Sunday afternoon.
  • USCL Lancers sweep Indians
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers improved to 12-8 in NJCAA Region X baseball play with a sweep of USC Salkehatchie in Allendale over the weekend. The Lancers, 30-15 overall, capped the four-game sweep with two wins, 8-1, 3-1, on Sunday, April 10. In the 3-1 win in eight innings, Trey Sowell went seven frames for the win to push his record to 5-1.
  • USCL Lancers drop 3 to Fire Ants
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers fell to 8-8 in NJCAA Region X baseball play, dropping three of four games to USC Sumter over the weekend. The Lancers, 24-15, capped the four-game series with two losses on Sunday afternoon at the USCS field. The Fire Ants took a 3-2 win in the Sunday nightcap after taking a 5-3 win in the opener. In the nightcap, USCL’s Kipp Rollings, 0-4, took the loss in 5.2 innings. Rollings allowed three runs, an earned run, five hits and two walks. He struck out three.
  • USCL Lancers go 2-2 in SMC series
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers baseball team split a Region X four-game series with Spartanburg Methodist College at SMC over the weekend. The Pioneers rallied for a 12-8 win to cap the series on Saturday. SMC took advantage of six walks in the sixth to spark a nine-run rally after USCL held a 7-3 lead. Ryan Mason paced the Lancers with three hits and five RBIs. Mason blasted a pair of two-run homers and unloaded a solo shot for USCL.
  • Lancers split Region X series with Titans
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster baseball team, 21-10, capped a series split with Region X foe Guilford Tech with a 10-0 win over the Titans on Sunday afternoon at the Lancaster High School baseball field. Cordes Baker, in the five-inning game halted by the 10-run mercy rule, hurled a two-hitter for the USCL shutout. He struck out eight and allowed no walks with a hit batter.
  • Lancers lash 22 hits in 21-1 win over Limestone
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers drilled 22 hits in a 21-1 road baseball win over the Limestone College junior varsity in Gaffney on Tuesday. Ryan Mason triggered the USCL offense with four hits – three singles and a double – and drove in four runs. Tyler Ackard had four hits and a RBI. Evan Edwards rapped three hits and two RBIs. Samuel Blalock rapped two hits, including a three-run home run, and drove in five runs.
  • Lancers post three wins over Bulldogs
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers opened NJCAA Region X baseball play, taking three of four wins over Pitt Community College (N.C.) over the weekend. USCL, 18-8, highlighted the series finale with an 8-5 comeback win over the PCC Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon at the Lancaster High School baseball field. The Lancers ignited for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to gain the three-run win. Ryan Mason’s three-run home run gave USCL a 7-5 lead and Christian Cain belted a solo homer for the 8-5 edge.
  • Lancers drop two of three to Mustangs
    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers dropped two of three games with the Monroe College Mustangs of New Rochelle, N.Y., in recent action at the Lancaster High School baseball field. The Lancers, 15-7, dropped the series finale, losing 9-3 to Monroe College on Friday night. Thomas DuRant, 2-1, took the loss in 4.1 innings of work. He allowed six runs, four hits, four walks and four earned runs. He fanned four. Trey Sowell went 1.1 innings and yielded an earned run, a walk and three hits. He whiffed one.
