    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson’s boys had to work double overtime, but it paid huge hoops dividends for the surging Volunteers.

    On Friday night, Feb. 6, the AJ boys challenged the second-ranked Cheraw Braves and responded with an 88-87 double overtime win over CHS.

    The No. 1 ranked Lancaster Lady Bruins stayed unbeaten on the season and the LHS boys kept pace in Region III-AAA basketball play on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

    The Lady Bruins, atop the Class AAA girls state poll, crushed Clinton, 73-19 and the surging LHS boys notched a 58-42 win over CHS to aid their postseason hoops hopes.

    Warriors’ junior guard Darnell Rogers hit one of two free throws with 11.9 seconds to play to lift the Warriors to a 92-91 win over York Prep.

    Indian Land and Buford each had three wrestlers to win Region IV-AA championships at the all-region wrestling tournament at North Central High School on Saturday, Jan. 31.
