  • Bakers have big night at Speedway

     

    It was Baker night at Lancaster Super Speedway as Brandy Baker captured the win in SECA Crate Late Models and Pro Street, while his son, Andrew Baker, captured the Super Street Division win.

    In the SECA Crate Late Model main event, Benji Knight and Brandy Baker were on the front row.

  • Eagle helps winning team soar in...

    A card playoff decided the winning team in the annual Rotary Club golf tournament at the Lancaster Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 18.

    The foursome of Buck Tucker, Bryan Forbis, Junior Pate and Josh Tucker used an eagle on No. 2 to take the victory in the 23-team field. Buck Tucker’s 10-foot putt earned the No. 2 eagle.

    CHERAW – “Do not give up the big play” is one of every coach’s main mantras.

    Friday night the Indian Land Warriors gave up six plays over 50 yards, all for scores, in their 48-3 loss to the Cheraw Braves.

    CAMDEN – Lancaster, for the last two weeks, has come on strong in the second half to post a win.

    Host Camden halted the Bruins’ hopes of making it three straight with a 14-0 win over LHS at Zemp Stadium on Friday, Sept. 19.

    Lancaster had its share of shots, but each time the Bulldogs’ turned them away.

    KERSHAW – Buford parlayed five Andrew Jackson turnovers into a 34-13 halftime lead, then weathered a furious fourth-quarter Volunteers’ rally to capture a 43-33 Region IV-AA win on Friday, Sept. 19 at AJ.

    Andrew Jackson pulled within 34-27 with seven minutes left when AJ senior quarterback Kolby Whitley scored on a one-yard quarterback sneak.

  • Lady Jackets blank IL girls

     

    The Buford High School volleyball team swept a Region IV-AA home match with county rival Indian Land on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

    The Lady Jackets, in the 3-0 win, downed the visiting Lady Warriors, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-20 in the match.

  • Lancaster swimmers sweep South...

     

    The Lancaster High swim team posted a 261-101 win over Region IV-AAA rival South Pointe of Rock Hill on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

    The LHS girls downed SPHS, 132-49 and the Bruins topped the Stallions, 129-52. The girls results are listed first in each event.
