  • Balanced attack keys Lady...

    CHERAW – The Buford High girls led from start to finish for a 60-43 win to highlight a road split with Region IV-AA foe Cheraw High on Tuesday.
    The Jackets, in the nightcap, dropped a tough 58-49 loss to the Braves.
    The BHS girls, 5-10, 3-5, opened a 14-10 lead after a period of play and then took control with a 14-5 surge to gain a 28-15 lead at the half.
    The Lady Jackets, on a 19-12 charge, extended their lead to 20, 47-27, before taking the 17-point win.

  • Jackets drop home pair to Lee...

    Lee Central, completing a Region IV-AA sweep of host Buford, used a solid finish to foil the Jackets’ upset bid of the No. 5 Lee Central Stallions on Friday night at BHS.
    LCHS snapped a 42-all tie after three periods with a 28-22 surge to take a 70-64 win over the Jackets.
    In the opener, the Lee Central girls rallied in the second half to gain a 34-28 victory.
    The 12-4 Stallions, unbeaten in region play at 6-0, made the most of their foul shots, netting 27-35, including 19 of 27 in the final period.
    The Jackets were 9-22 at the foul line.

  • IL Warriors notch two hoop wins...

    Indian Land captured a pair of Region IV-AAA home basketball wins in a sweep of Fairfield Central High of Winnsboro at the Warriors’ gym on Friday night.
    The Lady Warriors opened with a 42-39 win and the IL boys capped the sweep with a 52-49 victory over the Griffins.
    The Warriors opened with a good start to take a 12-5 lead after one period, but Fairfield Central stayed close  as the Griffins trailed 28-21 at the half.
    Indian Land led 41-38 with a period to go, and the Warriors held on for the three-point win.

  • Vols post two wins over Knights

    KERSHAW – The host Andrew Jackson Volunteers cruised to a pair of Region IV-AA hoops wins over rival North Central High School on Friday night.
    The Lady Vols posted a 67-44 win and the Volunteer boys finished with a 74-48 win over the Knights.
    The Lady Vols, 12-5, 7-0, came into this rivalry contest with a record of 18-2 over the Lady Knights. The Lady Vols have won both of the prior meetings this season against the Lady Knights.

  • Bruins split with Stallions

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins snapped a three-game slide in Region III-AAAA play, taking a 51-48 win over South Pointe to give LHS a split in the home twin bill Friday night.
    The LHS girls opened with the three-point win, but the Bruins dropped a 62-42 loss to the Stallions in the nightcap.
    The Lady Bruins, 5-8, 2-3, rebounded from a slow start to notch the win.
    South Pointe opened a 9-6 lead after a period of play, but the Lady Bruins responded in the second quarter to take control.

  • LSS hosting Clash twice in 2017...

    The 2017 Lancaster Super Speedway racing season is getting closer and closer.
    LSS race teams across the Carolinas are preparing for the upcoming racing season at Lancaster Super Speedway.
    The ever-so popular Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series will be competing twice at the  LSS half-mile during the 2017 season.
    The first Clash race is on March 18, with the second race scheduled for Sept. 2.

  • Bruins drop pair to RNE Cavaliers

    Lancaster High School dropped a pair of Region III-AAAA basketball losses to host Richland Northeast High School on Tuesday night in Columbia.
    The Lady Cavaliers edge the LHS girls, 54-45 and the Bruins fell to the RNE boys, 69-43.
    The girls game was close, with the seventh-ranked Lady Cavs able to get the lead in the second quarter and hold the advantage for the nine-point win over the Lady Bruins.

  • Lady Warriors roll by Cycs to...

    The Indian Land High girls continued their  strong Region IV-AAA play, taking a 56-24 road win over Chester on Tuesday night.
    The Lady Warriors, 5-7, 2-1, started strong to cruise to the 32-point victory over the Lady Cyclones.
    IL bolted to a 16-5 lead and held a 35-8 edge at the break after outscoring CHS, 19-3 in the second period.
    “We got off to a good start and built on that lead,” Indian Land High girls coach Natasha Rogers said.
    Nia Pressley paced the Lady Warriors with 20, 12 in the first half.

  • Vols take two from Jackets

    KERSHAW – The Andrew Jackson Volunteers battled rival Buford High School in a Region IV-AA twin bill on Tuesday night when the Volunteers posted the sweep,  but in different fashion.
    The AJ girls won in overtime, taking a tough 39-30 win.
    The No. 7 AJ boys dominated the Buford  squad with an 83-60 victory.
    The Lady Vols started off evenly matched with the Lady Jackets, leading by two during the first quarter, 8-6. The play between the two teams was balanced by the half when AJ held a narrow 15-14 edge.

  • IL wrestlers second in Kings...

    The Indian Land High School varsity wrestling team placed in a tie for second at the King of Kings wrestling tournament at Waddell Language Academy in Charlotte on Saturday.
    The Warriors and Hopewell of Charlotte tied for second with 133.5 points each.
    Northwest Cabarrus, with 143 points, topped the 16-team field.
    The Warriors were led by Austin Ross and Chad Milasauskas, who each placed first in their weight class.
    Indian Land had three wrestlers who finished second, including Juan Alejandro, Kyle Daley and Wesley Johnson.
