    Lancaster Super Speedway is taking off this week for the annual summer vacation Saturday, June 14. LSS will resume racing June 21.

    Hank Taylor debuted a new ride and cruised to the Deal 1 Crate Sportsman win at Lancaster Super Speedway on Saturday. June 7.

    Taylor, in a new black car and silver car reminding fans of the late and great Dale Earnhardt, and ole eight-time time Jeffrey McGuirt were on the front row.

    INDIAN LAND – The Indian Land Lady Warriors fell short in their quest for the Class A-AA girls soccer state championship last month, but the IL girls do have the state’s top girls soccer player in the Class A-AA ranks.

  • CPTC nets 46 medals at LR meet

     

    The Columbus Parker Track Club earned 46 medals at a meet held at Lower Richland High School in Hopkins earlier this spring.

    The CPTC, a Lancaster youth track team, was led by Rekia Polk and Alexanderia Williams who had two firsts each in the meet.

  • LJGA opens 2014 season Monday

     The Lancaster chapter of the S.C. Junior Golf Association launches its 20th season with the 2014 opener at the Lancaster Golf Club on Monday, June 9.

    The Lancaster chapter of the S.C. Junior Golf Association is open to youth golfers, ages 6-18 who must be enrolled in school.

  • Juniors ignite early, club Clover

     

    The Lancaster Post 31 junior baseball team ignited early and rolled to a shutout win to improve to 4-2 on the 2014 season.

    The junior team, coming off a 2-1 victory over York Post 66 in a pitchers’ duel, broke out the bats to blast Clover Post 38, 11-0 on Thursday night, June 5 at Eggleton Field.

    Former Lancaster High School basketball star Sindarius Thornwell was among the honorees at the recent Gamecock Gala.

    The event, held at the Colonial Life Arena, honored University of South Carolina student-athletes for their accomplishments during the 2013-14 campaign.
