    KERSHAW – The 2014-15 Andrew Jackson boys cage edition will be centered around scrappiness and hustle. Meanwhile, the current Lady Volunteers seek another state title run.

    AJ boys head coach Danny Wright is counting on returning veterans to provide leadership for his young Vols on the hardwood this season.

  • LHS Bruins have high hoops hopes

     

    The Lancaster Bruins have high hopes for their 2014-15 hoops season.

    The LHS Bruins have a solid cast returning this season, while the Lady Bruins, coming off a region crown, also have their share of veterans and some solid newcomers.

  • Lady Jackets swarm to tourney...

     

    The Buford Lady Jackets posted two solid wins to capture the Lewisville Invitational at Lewisville High School in Richburg on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

    The BHS girls, who opened with a 50-17 win over Region IV-AA foe North Central High School on Monday, Nov. 24, wrapped up the tournament crown with a convincing 63-20 win over York Prep on Tuesday.

  • Lady Bruins win tourney

     

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins roared with resound to open their 2014-15 basketball season in the Clover Optimist Classic preseason tournament at Clover High School.

    The LHS girls went 3-0 in the field, highlighted by an 86-54 win over Hammond Academy of Columbia in the championship game on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

    Claflin University assistant softball coach Marty Kinard, the Lady Panthers’ recruiting coordinator, calls CU’s early signees “a great recruiting class.”

  • AJ Lady Vols fall to York

     The Andrew Jackson girls team traveled to York for a game with Class AAAA  host York Comprehensive High School in the York Preseason basketball tournament Monday, Nov. 24.

    The game was a tough assignment for the Lady Vols, who dropped a 52-41 loss to the Lady Cougars.

  • Buford High girls down NC in...

     

    Buford opened play in the Lady Lions Tipoff at Lewisville High School in Richburg with a solid 50-17 win over North Central High School on Monday, Nov. 24.

    The Lady Jackets’ 33-point win earned the BHS girls a berth in the tournament title game on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

    Lancaster Super Speedway honored its top performers for the 2014 dirt track racing season at the LSS’s annual year-end banquet to salute the points champions and top 5 in points along with other awards.

  • Anderson signs Gardner

     

    Anderson University is the prime place for Buford High School baseball standout James Gardner.

    Gardner, a three-year starter for the BHS baseball team, made it official Friday afternoon, Nov. 21 in the school’s conference room as he signed to play for the Trojans.
