    Two former Lancaster County high school football standouts have been honored by the South Atlantic Conference.Kamaal McIlwain, who starred at Indian Land High School, along with Britt Blackmon, who played at Andrew Jackson, were honored by the SAC for their play in Newberry’s 32-21 win over 15th-ranked Wingate University on Oct. 18.McIlwain, a 5-10, 175-pound sophomore, was honored for the second time this season by the SAC.McIlwain, a NC defensive back, was named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week.

    ROCK HILL – Rock Hill High head football coach Joe Montgomery called the Bearcats’ 31-0 Region IV-AAAA win over Lancaster on Thursday night the Bearcats’ “most complete game” this season.Lancaster will offer about as much argument to Montgomery’s claim as they did resistance to the Cats’ dominating performance at District Three Stadium.“We were able to control field position and didn’t give up the big play,” Montgomery said.
